Cafe Cottage

About a ten minute drive north from Acadian Point is Cafe Cottage, by far one of the coolest coffee shops in Lafayette. Why? It's practically a pirate ship. The logo for this cozy-sounding coffee shop is a steaming skull and crossbones, and we absolutely love it. Here, you will find dark polished wood and exposed brick in a perfect blend of coffee shop and local bar. And you can bet they serve brews of both varieties with artisanal perfection. You'll also find a great menu with big portions of homestyle brunch and bar food open until very, very late.

And yes, the patio is dog friendly.

Black Cafe

In surprising contrast, the Black Cafe is a sunny little coffee shop about five minutes further north near the junction of Mudd Ave and Evangeline Thruway. Black Cafe is light and airy with big windows and little tables where locals often meet for coffee, breakfast, and brunch, They have a little bakery inside that serves powdered sugar beignets alongside scotch eggs, breakfast sandwiches, and enormous black Angus burgers,

Rêve Coffee Roasters

The Rêve Coffee Roasters are, as you might guess, serious about their roast. They make coffee a personal and flavor-rich experience for every guest who walks through the door. The shop is spacious with the coffee crafting counter in the center of a light industrial decoration style. There are a few breakfast and brunch menu options, but mostly, they do coffee. So many different types of coffee.

Craze of Lafayette

Out on the west side of town, you'll find Craze of Lafayette, or just "Craze" to the locals. If you're looking for a wacky, delicious specialty drink that features coffee, Craze is the place to go. They sell coffee drinks, ice cream blends, energy teas, a random assortment of snacks, and there is definitely a unique drink flavor for everyone.

Black Cat Coffee House

If you're looking for one of those coffee shops worth almost leaving town for, head north on Moss Street / County Highway 728-1 until you get to the Black Cat Coffee House. Every cup of coffee is customizable with syrups, infusions, and alternate milks. They sell herbal and milky teas and totally adorable specialty coffees from the "Angry Cat" to "Toe Beans".
